Creating bibliographies in RefWorks is a snap!  However, with that said, it is always important to proofread your draft bibliography!  Mistakes do occur due to the data provided, but with a read-through you should be able to catch them!

To create a bibliography:

  1. Click on the Create Bibliography button.
  2. Next you will need to fill out a short form. 
  3. Select the "Output Style" (also known as Citation Format) for your bibliography.
  4. Select the File Type - think what kind of document you want your bibliography in - choices are: HTML, Word for Windows, Word for Mac.  With the Word options, you can copy and past the references easily to the end of your paper.  Just make sure to change the font style and size to match that of your paper.
  5. Finally, select what references you want in the bibliography. 
  6. Click on Create Bibliography.
  7. Make sure that your pop-up blocker is turned off.  Otherwise you will need to allow RefWorks as an exception to get your bibliography.
  8. And there you are - your bibliography should either open or you will be prompted with a link to click.
